Saturday Night Live begins its 46th season on NBC on Oct. 3, with former castmember Chris Rock returning as host for the third time and Megan Thee Stallion making her first appearance as musical guest.
The long-running show will return to the studio after ending its 2019-20 season with remote episodes. The show’s entire cast from season 45, including longtime regulars Kenan Thompson, Kate McKinnon, Cecily Strong and Aidy Bryant, is set to return, and three new featured players will join the ensemble: Lauren Holt, Punkie Johnson and Andrew Dismukes, who has been a writer on SNL for the past three seasons.
The season will open with five straight weeks of new episodes leading up to the Nov. 3 election. Jim Carrey will play Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, and Alec Baldwin and Maya Rudolph are expected back as, respectively, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.
