Another Marvel star is heading to Saturday Night Live this season.
Chris Hemsworth, best known for the Thor and Avengers films, has been pegged to host the NBC sketch series’ March 7 episode. This will be the actor’s first time on the Studio 8H stage.
This is certainly a busy year for the star, who starred in January’s underperforming hacker thriller Blackhat and reprises his role as the Norse god in Avengers: Age of Ultron, launching May 1. The release date for his Ron Howard-directed adventure film In the Heart of the Sea was recently pushed from March to December.
Hemsworth is not the first star of a superhero film to show off their comic chops in season 40. Chris Pratt, a.k.a. Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy, fronted the September premiere, while Man of Steel‘s Amy Adams, Jim Carrey (Batman Forever) and Cameron Diaz (Green Hornet) have also taken the show’s reins this season.
The Zac Brown Band will be the musical guest for the March 7 episode. SNL, which recently celebrated its 40th anniversary with an anniversary extravaganza, returns from a monthlong hiatus this Saturday with Fifty Shades of Grey‘s Dakota Johnson hosting and Alabama Shakes performing.
Saturday Night Live airs Saturdays at 11:30 p.m. on NBC. A tweet from the show can be seen below.
