See Josh Charles in ‘Masters of Sex’ Teaser Trailer

Josh Charles is back.

Following the actor’s sudden departure from The Good Wife, Charles has made his small screen return in Masters of Sex.

In a newly released teaser trailer, Charles can be seen as charismatic salesman Daniel Logan, a self-made businessman working in the scent industry. He crosses paths with famed sex researchers Bill Masters and Virginia Johnson (Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan) in his attempt to bottle the smell of sex and market the aphrodisiac to the public. His involvement with the already-intimate pair becomes, well, complicated.

The Showtime period drama also unveiled its key art for the upcoming third season, which is intended to mark the drama’s entrance into a new era — the ‘60s. The image shows the leading duo tangled up with Master’s wife, Libby (Caitlin Fitzgerald), on a colorful Twister mat. The game, which gained popularity in May of 1966 when it was televised on Johnny Carson‘s The Tonight Show, also endured criticism for supposedly selling “sex in a box.”

Coincidentally, the series will return in 1966, a five-year time jump from where season 2 left off. It will follow Master and Johnson’s journey into the public eye as they publish their study at the onset of the sexual revolution. Meanwhile, a three-way relationship appears to evolve between Bill, Virginia and Libby.
