Seth Meyers and Jimmy Kimmel addressed Donald Trump’s eyebrow-raising comments to female reporters during the president’s Monday press conference on their respective talk shows on Monday night.
During the presser, Trump called on ABC’s Cecilia Vega. “She’s shocked that I picked her,” Trump said. “She’s, like, in a state of shock.”
When Vega said that she was not in shock, Trump responded, “I know you’re not thinking. You never do.”
“As multiple female reporters tried to ask him about Kavanaugh, he shot them down in super demeaning and sexist ways,” Meyers told the Late Night audience before sharing clips from the press conference, including a clip of Trump cutting off CNN’s Kaitlan Collins when she tried to change the subject from trade to Kavanaugh. “I mean, how much of a sexist dick can you possibly be?”

“It’s almost like he saw someone else getting attention for acting like a maniac on TV and thought, ‘I can top that,'” said Meyers as a photo of Kavanaugh appeared onscreen.
Over on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the host also addressed Trump’s comment to Vega. “Of course with the focus of this Kavanaugh situation tying in so strongly with the #MeToo movement, with most everyone reevaluating how women are treated, the president was on his best behavior when it came to the female reporters at the press conference.”
After playing the clip of Trump’s comments to Vega, Kimmel said, “Nobody respects women more than Donald Trump. What a creep.”
Trump spoke with reporters on Tuesday morning about how it is a “scary” time for young men in regards to the allegations against Brett Kavanaugh. “It is a scary time for young men in America. You can be accused before you prove your innocence,” he said.
The comment follows the news that the White House tried to cover up Trump’s offensive comments to Vega by changing the transcript from the press conference. According to the original transcript, Trump said, “I know you’re not thanking; you never do.” The transcript was eventually corrected with the real quote on Tuesday morning.
He was also asked if he had a message for young women. “Women are doing great,” he responded.
