Seth Meyers is officially expanding into scripted on NBC.

The network has handed out a series order to the half-hour comedy A.P. Bio, which is executive produced by the Late Night host.

The single-camera comedy centers on a philosophy scholar (It’s Always Sunny star Glenn Howerton) who loses out on his dream job and goes to work as a high school Advanced Placement biology teacher. At his new job, he makes it clear he will not be teaching any biology. Realizing he has a room full of honor roll students at his disposal, he decides instead to use the kids to his own benefit.

Patton Oswalt, Lyric Lewis, Mary Sohn, Aparna Brielle, Jacob McCarthy and Nick Peine also star in the series, with Saturday Night Live castmember Vanessa Bayer set to guest-star in the pilot episode.

SNL grad Mike O’Brien will write and exec produce. In addition to Meyers, Lorne Michaels, Andrew Singer and Late Night With Seth Meyers showrunner Michael Shoemaker will also exec produce. The series hails from Universal TV, Broadway Video and Sethmaker Shoemeyers Productions.

A.P. Bio, which had emerged as a frontrunner in recent days, is the second comedy to get a series order at NBC for the 2017-18 season, joining the Will & Grace revival, which recevied a greenlight in January. Last week, NBC also handed out its first drama series orders of the season to military drama For God and Country and Jason Katims‘ Rise, which also takes place at a high school. All four hail in-house from Universal TV.

The A.P. Bio series order deepens the network’s relationship with two of its more important late-night talents: Meyers and SNL boss Michaels. Meyers previously exec produced the scripted animated comedy The Awesomes for Hulu.

The series order, however, puts into question Howerton’s future on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. He has starred on the FX comedy for all 12 of its seasons, with the show already greenlighted for two more. The cast has been expanding into other ventures in recent years, with Kaitlin Olson pulling double duty on the Fox comedy The Mick, which was renewed for a second season, and Danny DeVito working on an Amazon comedy with Jeff Goldblum.
