Seth Meyers is ready to offer a solution (of sorts) for sleepless sexual predators.
During his Thursday show, the Late Night host presented a spoof commercial for a new fake medication designed to help men who’ve committed acts of sexual harassment and assault sleep at night.
“If you’re a man who’s afraid that his past episodes of sexual assault and/or harassment will come to light and, as a result, struggle with insomnia, then struggle no more,” a female voiceover is heard saying, before introducing “Pervatol,” recognized as “the first sleep aid specifically designed for sexual predators.”
The female voiceover then comically assesses whether each of the men’s testimonials make them suited to take Pervatol as they narrate their experiences with women.
One man says, “We were on a work trip. It was 4 a.m. and I was wasted. So, I start innocently banging on her door, demanding she let me in. I mean, she was my intern.” Another man begins his story, explaining, “Well she didn’t tell me I could, but-“, with the female voiceover immediately interjecting, “Pervatol is right for you.”
The female narrator then becomes upset after a man argues that the drug isn’t right for him, because he was only “masturbating” and “didn’t even touch her.” “What the f—- is wrong with you?” the voiceover screams. “You can choke on a Pervatol for all I care!”
While the pills may help with insomnia, the commercial notes that the medicine “in no way, shape, or form can erase your history of sexual assault and harassment” or “absolve you of your guilt and shame.”
The ad then offers one final threat to predators. “In fact, those who take Pervatol should be aware that within our current climate, these accusations will come out sooner than later.”
