ABC’s Shark Tank tied its season high in adults 18-49 Sunday, while Fox’s shows got a boost from an NFL lead-in.
Shark Tank scored a 0.8 in the 18-49 demographic, equaling its best mark of the season on Oct. 21. A repeat of the show at 10 o’clock drew a 0.6 in the demo, ABC’s best performance of the fall in that spot and double the average for the exiled Alec Baldwin Show.
America’s Funniest Home Videos (0.8) was steady for ABC, and Dancing With the Stars: Juniors improved a bit to 0.7.
Fox had the late-afternoon national NFL broadcast Sunday, and it had the usual halo effect on the early part of primetime. The Simpsons (1.6) was about 16 percent above its season average, and Bob’s Burgers (1.2) enjoyed a 4 percent bump. Family Guy (1.1) and Rel (0.6) were on par with their averages.
NBC’s Sunday Night Football telecast easily led the night, per usual, though it was down year to year. The Chicago Bears’ win over the Minnesota Vikings drew a 12.3 household rating in metered markets, down about 9 percent vs. the same night in 2017 (Eagles-Cowboys). It’s just the second time in the past 10 weeks SNF has been down year to year.
CBS also had a pretty good night, with NCIS: Los Angeles (0.8) and Madam Secretary (0.6) holding steady in adults 18-49 and improving their total audiences week to week. (All CBS numbers are subject to change due to late starts in some markets.) God Friended Me (0.8) lost 0.2 in the demo but was fairly steady in viewers, and 60 Minutes (1.0 in 18-49, 10.22 million viewers) was the night’s most-watched show, non-football division.
Supergirl and Charmed both held steady at 0.3 on The CW.
NBC’s 4.3 rating (pending updates) was the clear winner in the network race. Fox came in second with a 1.9, pending updates, followed by CBS, 0.8; ABC, 0.7; and The CW, 0.3.
