Gary Busey and Cheryl Tiegs are among a slew of actors who have joined the cast of Syfy’s tentatively titled Sharknado 4 alongside returning stars Ian Ziering and Tara Reid.
Busey will play as Wilford Wexler, April’s (Reid) father and a lead scientist at Astro-X who is at the forefront of advances in the field of robotics.
Tiegs will play Raye, Fin’s (Ziering) mother, who is a little bit of a former flower child but not afraid to speak her mind or protect her family.
Also among the cast are Tommy Davidson (In Living Color) as Aston Reynolds, a playboy tech billionaire; Cody Linley (Hannah Montana) as Matt, Fin and April’s eldest son; Imani Hakim (Everybody Hates Chris) as Gabrielle, Matt’s best friend and a fellow soldier; and Masiela Lusha (George Lopez), as Gemini, Fin’s cousin.
Also returning for the fourth installment of the franchise are David Hasselhoff as Gil Shepard and Ryan Newman as Claudia Shepard.
Set to premiere in July, the movie is set five years after the events of Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! More cameos are expected to be announced soon.
In a twist, Syfy let viewers vote on the fate of Reid’s character, who was last seen with a piece of space shuttle wreckage hurtling toward her before the screen cut to black.
Anthony C. Ferrante is directing the movie, produced by The Asylum, and the script was written by Thunder Levin.
