Cartoon Network Studios has named Sharon Lieblein as vp casting and talent development.
She will be based in Burbank and be responsible for booking and managing talent appearing on scripted and live-action projects from Cartoon Network Studios, reporting to Rob Sorcher, chief content officer at Cartoon Network.
“Sharon is one of the most respected casting executives in the youth entertainment arena and we’re extremely pleased that she’ll be joining us, helping us to discover talent for the next phase of our original content development,” Sorcher said. “This new role at Cartoon Network Studios underscores our commitment to a broad programming slate, and to our growing live-action comedy plan.”
Lieblein was vp talent and casting at Nickelodeon, where she spent the past 12 years. There, she oversaw live-action and animation casting for pilots, telefilms, specials and promos at Nickelodeon Networks, including iCarly, Zoey 101 and Drake and Josh. She has helped launch the careers of Emma Roberts, LilyCollins and Miranda Cosgrove, among others.
Cartoon Network most recently unveiled 13 new series and a partnership with DC during its upfront last month.
Cartoon Network reaches 99 million homes in the U.S.
