USA Network is adding to the cast of Shooter, starring Ryan Phillippe.
Jerry Ferrara, Jesse Bradford and Todd Lowe have joined the second season of the drama as recurring characters. In addition, Beverly D’Angelo (National Lampoon’s Vacation) will return for a second season.
A co-production of Paramount TV and Universal Cable Productions, Shooter is based on the best-selling novels Point of Impact and Time to Hunt by Stephen Hunter and the 2007 Paramount film starring Mark Wahlberg. Season two of the drama will follow the journey of Bob Lee Swagger (Phillippe), a highly decorated veteran who must confront a nemesis from his past in order to return to a life of normalcy.
Ferrara, best known for his role as Turtle in Entourage, will play the recurring guest role of Kirk Zehnder, a former marine and part of Bob Lee Swagger’s core team who always detects a conspiracy. In addition to currently starring in Starz‘s Power, his other credits include Lone Survivor, Sully and the Think Like a Man franchise.
Bradford (Flags of Our Fathers) will recur in the guest-star role of Harris Downey, a D.C. staffer and Nadine Memphis’ (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) love interest. He recently wrapped production on the Lea Thompson-directed indie The Year of Spectacular Men opposite Zoey Deutch and thriller Dead Awake, directed by Phillip Guzman.
True Blood alum Lowe is set for the recurring role of Colin Dobbs. A former marine in Bob Lee Swagger’s unit, Dobbs is now living large in Texas an hour from the Swagger Ranch. His post-military passions are good times and big trucks, but when his former team comes under attack, he flips the warrior switch back on to help Swagger bring the fight to the enemy.
Ferrara is repped by Arielle Mesirow at WME and Michael Garnett at Leverage. Bradford is repped by Shauna Perlman at UTA and Jason Barrett at Alchemy. Lowe is represented by SMS Talent and Leverage Management.
Season two of Shooter premieres Tuesday, July 18 at 10 p.m.
