A spell has suddenly come over The Good Witch.
Two months after Beverly Hills Cop‘s Daniel Petrie Jr. was tapped to showrun and executive produce the Hallmark Channel series, he has exited, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Hallmark has taken over day-to-day duties on the 10-episode original scripted series, currently set to start production in Toronto in mid-October, and will bring in a new writing staff. The departure allows Petrie to focus on the film and TV development and production slate at his shingle, Enderby Entertainment.

The Good Witch, produced by Whizbang Films and based on Hallmark Channel’s TV movie franchise, stars Catherine Bell as a raven-haired enchantress who casts a spell on a haunted house. Orly Adelson, Jonathan Eskenas, Frank Siracusa and Craig Pryce are executive producing, with Bell as co-executive producer.
