Freeform is coming to Disney’s first combined upfront presentation armed with some news and new footage from its upcoming originals.
On Tuesday, Disney’s younger-skewing cable network handed out a third-season renewal for mermaid drama Siren and unveiled the first footage of upcoming dramas Motherland: Fort Salem, Everything’s Gonna Be Okay and its Party of Five reboot. The Tom Ascheim-led cabler also announced that it would begin airing repeats from all 30 seasons of Disney’s newly acquired crown jewel The Simpsons come September and announced expansion plans for its holiday-themed programming.
“Freeform is built on one very powerful belief: that embracing the disruptive voices and diverse identities of our viewers is key to our ongoing success,” said Ascheim. “We are so proud to have the opportunity to grow with our audience and are looking forward to continuing to push the boundaries of convention through our programming — this year and in years to come.”
