Pan-European pay TV giant Sky’s growing production and distribution arm Sky Vision has hired three new senior executives, including one in the U.S.
Gillian Rose, former managing director of PBS Distribution, is joining the company in the newly created role of senior vp, sales and acquisitions U.S., based in New York. She reports to Sky Vision managing director Jane Millichip.
Rose will be responsible for sales of Sky originals and Sky Vision’s third-party programs into the U.S. and also oversee the acquisition of U.S. programming for the Sky Vision catalog. She takes up the role in early October and will attend Mipcom alongside Rebecca Segal, senior vp, Los Angeles, who represents both Sky Vision and Sky Entertainment on the West Coast.
“It is a measure of Sky Vision’s growing profile in the U.S. that someone of Gillian’s caliber is joining us,” said Millichip. “Gillian’s expertise across sales, acquisitions and production is very impressive. She also has a fantastic reputation for professionalism and skilled deal-making. I am delighted to welcome her to the Sky Vision fold.”
Sky Vision has also hired Caroline Clarke as senior sales manager Asia, based in Singapore. She previously headed up business development at ITN Source across Asia.
And Colin Burgess takes up the newly-created role of director of operations at Sky Vision. He has been serving as head of interactive services at Sky.
Sky Vision holds stakes in seven production businesses in the U.K. and U.S. and has increased its revenue tenfold across production and distribution over its first four years of business.
Said Millichip: “We have created three new senior roles in response to the rapid growth and international expansion of Sky Vision. This is a significant development in our evolution. The new roles address both our business-winning activities and our drive to deliver a ‘best in class’ service to all clients.”
