Fox 21 Television Studios is keeping Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson in-house.
The former Smallville showrunners have inked a two-year overall deal with the cable-focused arm of 20th Century Fox Television.
The pact continues Souders and Peterson’s relationship with the studio, having worked on WGN America’s Salem and National Geographic anthology Genius. The duo next serve as showrunners on National Geographic’s Ebola drama The Hot Zone, starring Juliana Margulies.
“Kelly and Brian are part of the family and fantastic writers who have done great work for us on shows like Salem and Genius. We’re excited to have them exclusively at Fox 21 as we embark on their own show, The Hot Zone. They are the perfect showrunners and writers, along with Jeff Vintar, to bring this terrifying true story to the screen,” Fox 21 president Bert Salke said.
Souders and Peterson’s credits also include CBS’ Under the Dome. They’re repped by WME and attorney Michael Gendler.
