Starz has set the premiere date of Spartacus: Vengeance, starring Australian actor Liam McIntyre.
Vengeance, which will premiere Friday, Jan. 27 at 10 p.m., begins several weeks after Spartacus: Blood and Sand, which debuted on the pay cabler last January. That series ended with Spartacus leading a rampage at the House of Batiatus. Additionally, the network has released new footage from the opener.
According to the official episode description, Vengeance opens with Spartacus wanting “to exact revenge on the man responsible for killing his wife, but he will soon understand his life is about something greater than avenging Sura’s death. His mission is to build an army, set free the slaves and topple the Roman Empire.”
Lucy Lawless, Peter Mensah, Manu Bennett, Dustin Clare, Nick E. Tarabay and Katrina Law return, along with Craig Parker and Viva Bianca. Cynthia Addai-Robinson joins the series as Naevia.
