Starz has promoted three longtime employees in its network affairs, promotional and legal departments.
The male-skewing cable network on Friday announced that Peter J. Demas has been upped from executive director of key initiatives at Starz Entertainment Group to vp network operations. Demas, who joined Starz in 2007, will report to Stephan Shelanski, exec vp programming acquisitions. In his new role, he’ll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the network’s on-air promotion, including campaigns, planning and strategy for all Starz and Encore channels.
In addition, the network upped longtime Starz exec Michael Gallegos to executive director of on-air promotion for Starz Entertainment, where he will oversee the creative management and development of promotional content across multiple platforms, including on-demand and on-air for Starz.
Meanwhile, Stephan Pfeifer has been upped from director to senior director of business and legal affairs for Starz Entertainment. He’ll be responsible for consulting and providing guidance to internal Starz Entertainment and Starz Media clients on issues relating to marketing, contract negotiation, intellectual property and anti-piracy. He’s been with Starz since March 2001.
