The former Presidential candidate appears in Colbert's latest promo for his new gig.

Stephen Colbert isn’t shying away from his political past.

In the latest promo for his new gig as the host of the Late Show on CBS, the former Daily Show personality and Colbert Report host shares screen time with former presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

In the video, Colbert tries to give viewers a taste of what’s to come, saying he’ll interview celebrities, athletes, musicians and, “of course,” politicians. Romney’s cameo leads Colbert to make a very pointed remark about playing a “character” — much like Colbert did for his many years at Comedy Central.

The new Late Show premieres Sept. 8 at 11:35 p.m. on CBS. Watch the video below:
