Both Style and Vh1 had reasons to celebrate after Monday’s ratings numbers rolled in. The Tia & Tamera series premiere and the Basketball Wives season finale each broke records for their respective networks.
Style reports that the series premiere of its new reality series starring Tia and Tamera Mowry attracted 757,000 viewers to Monday’s 9 p.m. airing. Its encore presentation at 10 p.m. performed almost as well, bringing the total viewers for the premiere episode to 1.5 million viewers. That made it the network’s most watched series launch ever among Women’s demos 18-49 and 18-34. The series follows the famous twins as Tia goes through her first pregnancy and Tamera plans her wedding.
Over at VH1, the ratings bonanza continued, as well. Their Baskeball Wives Season 3 finale, which aired Monday at 8 p.m., attracted 2.6 million viewers. The encore episode at 10 p.m. added another 2 million viewers bringing the episode’s total to 4.6 million total viewers. According to the network, that’s the reality series’ highest rating ever, as well as VH1’s highest rated telecast since 2009.
VH1’s scripted series, Single Ladies, also performed well for the network. Its season finale Monday at 8 p.m. and its encore episode at 11 p.m. brought in 3.3 million total viewers. Combined with the Basketball Wives viewership, VH1 won Monday’s 8 p.m. to midnight time period among women 18-34 and women 18-49.
