Syfy’s space exploration continues.
The NBCUniversal-owned cable network has acquired Dark Matter, a 13-episode drama based on the Dark Horse graphic novels.
The series, a co-production with Lost Girl producers Prodigy Pictures, is created by Stargate‘s Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie.
Dark Matter centers on the crew of a derelict spaceship that is awakened from stasis with no memories of who they are or how they got on board. Facing threats at every turn, they have to work together to survive a voyage charged with vengeance, betrayal and hidden secrets.

?The drama marks Syfy’s latest international co-production, joining Z Nation andOlympus, the latter of which will join Dark Matter on Syfy’s 2015 schedule. The series comes as Syfy will say farewell to Prodigy’s Lost Girl.

The cabler has a roster of new dramas including Dominion, Ascension, 12 Monkeys, Olympus, Z Nation, The Expanse and Hunters joining returning series Defiance, Haven and Helix, among others.
