Oxygen is continuing its push into original programming, green-lighting a docuseries following Maria Menounos.
The younger-skewing network on Wednesday used its platform at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour to tout its growth in the women 18-34 demographic and unveil the untitled entry revolving around the Extra personality as she juggles her hosting duties, Dancing With the Stars and WWE commitment all while navigating a rich personal life.
Outside of her busy career, Menounos has an equally demanding home life with her boyfriend of 14 years talking marriage and traditional Greek parents who want grandchildren. The untitled series will be produced by Left/Right with Ken Druckerman, Banks Tarver and Angie Day on board to executive produce alongside Menounos and Kevin Undergaro. Oxygen will bow the series next year.
In addition, Oxygen has tapped Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz to host the second season of tattoo docuseries Best Ink, where he’ll guide contestants through the competition.

“High-profile celebrities, provocative themes and aspirational story lines are the drivers behind Oxygen’s ramped up original programming,” Oxygen senior vp programming Rod Aissa said. “Our commitment to developing projects in this space is right in line with a broad spectrum of entertainment that speaks to our young viewers.”
As part of its plan to bolster its Tuesday lineup — which currently features its buzzy entry The Glee Project — Oxygen will bow docuseries My Shopping Addiction on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 10 p.m. with Hollywood Unzipped: Stylist Wars due Nov. 27 at 10 p.m.
The Menounos entry joins a lineup that includes docuseries Bad Girls Club, Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood and the recently launched I’m Having Their Baby as the cabler continues its efforts to grow original content.
