Angela Weiss/Getty ImagesAmerica’s Got Talent judge Sharon Osbourne prompted a flurry of stories about her impending departure from the NBC competition on Tuesday after sending a tweet to fellow panelist Howard Stern.
“Money is not the reason I’m not returning,” she wrote. “It’s because…”
That was followed by radio silence from the 59-year-old, who also has a seat on CBS’ The Talk. And between panels of NBC’s day at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt didn’t have much else to say on the matter.

He brought it up with reporters, saying he didn’t know what the story was, but that it was likely “much ado about nothing.”
Osbourne has sat on the America’s Got Talent panel since the series’ second season. Now in its seventh run, Obsbourne sits beside recent addition Stern, who prompted the taping of the live episodes to move to New York. Despite his high profile inclusion, and the show’s continued summer rating dominance, numbers are down in the recent run.
Osbourne has previously hinted at a reluctance to commit too much to television. She vowed to cut back her hours on The Talk to spend time with husband Ozzy Osbourne and has recently been very candid about her family’s rallying behind son Jack, recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
