Apple’s Ted Lasso is adding to its cast.
Sarah Niles has boarded the comedy from star Jason Sudeikis and Bill Lawrence as a series regular for its upcoming second season.
The I May Destroy You and Trying actress will play Sharon, a sports psychologist who has been brought in to work with AFC Richmond.
The comedy, fresh off its Golden Globe win for star and co-creator Sudeikis, is currently in production in London on season two. The series, which broke out as the feel-good show of 2020, has already been renewed for a third season on the tech giant’s TV+ platform.
For her part, Niles recently wrapped filming on limited series Viewpoint from Harry Bradbeer and Ed Whitmore. The stage actress’ credits also include Apple’s Trying and Dracula and Catastrophe. She’s repped by Denton Brierley, Alan Siegel Entertainment and Sloane Offer.
Niles joins a cast of the unqualified American coaching a London soccer team that also includes Hannah Waddingham, Brendan Hunt, Jeremy Swift, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein, Phil Dunster and Nick Mohammed.
Based on a character developed for NBC Sports, Ted Lasso hails from Warner Bros. Television and Universal Television. The comedy was developed by Sudeikis, Lawrence, Joe Kelly and Hunt.
A return date for season two has not yet been determined.
