The Teen Choice Awards were not the choice of TV viewers, teen or otherwise, on Sunday night, as the show drew its smallest audience ever for Fox.
The kudocast barely topped the 1 million viewer mark, averaging 1.01 million for its two-hour run time, down 41 percent from the 1.7 million who tuned into the 2017 broadcast. The awards are never a big draw in the adults 18-49 demographic, but Sunday’s 0.3 rating was also a low, falling two tenths of a point from 0.5 in 2017.
CBS currently ranks No. 1 for the night, though numbers are subject to change as coverage of golf’s PGA Championship pushed the primetime lineup back 20 minutes in the Eastern and Central time zones. Big Brother is currently at a 1.4 in the 18-49 demo, the best mark of the night. A fresh episode of Elementary didn’t get any boost at 10 p.m., however; it’s currently at 0.3, on par with its Monday rating.
ABC’s Celebrity Family Feud (1.0), $100,000 Pyramid (0.8) and To Tell the Truth (0.7) all matched their numbers from a week earlier.
On NBC, Shades of Blue tied a season high with a 0.6 in the demo.
CBS currently holds the lead among adults 18-49 in primetime (pending updates) with a 1.0 rating. ABC came in second at 0.8, followed by NBC at 0.6 and Fox at 0.3.
