Teen Wolf will be down a castmember when it returns for season six.
Arden Cho, who plays Kira on the drama, announced on Monday that she will not be returning for the series’ upcoming season.
“I just want to say I love Kira Yukimura so much,” Cho said in the emotional video. “I loved my experience on Teen Wolf. I love the cast and crew, it’s been an amazing three-and-a-half years. It’s gone by so fast, but unfortunately, it looks like we are wrapped up with Kira’s storyline and she won’t be coming back for season six.”
Cho went onto apologize to fans about previous comments she had made about season six that implied she would be returning. “I think at the time we were assuming that we were back,” the actress said. “Sometimes in a show where there are so many characters, there isn’t always room for everyone and everyone’s storylines, so i guess that was it.”
Cho said she wished for more of an “epic ending” for her character, but left the door open for a possible return.
This is the third major cast departure for the series, which said goodbye to Crystal Reed in season three and Tyler Hoechlin in season four. Cho joined the cast in a recurring capacity in season three before being promoted to a series regular in season four.
Teen Wolf was renewed for a sixth season back in July.
