Texas Agricultural Commissioner Sid Miller called Hillary Clinton a “c—” on his Twitter account Tuesday.
The tweet about the Democratic presidential nominee has since been deleted. In it, Miller, a Republican who refers to himself as a “Deplorable” in his Twitter profile, shared Pennsylvania poll results that stated: “TRUMP 44 and C— 43,” according to screenshots of the tweet.
According to Dallas News, Miller’s office first said his account was hacked.
Later, Miller’s staff said the tweet was an accident.
“The campaign was posting information on Twitter today and inadvertently retweeted a tweet that they were not aware contained a derogatory term,” according to a statement from Miller’s office. “The tweet was taken down as soon as possible. Commissioner Miller finds the term vulgar and offensive and apologizes to anyone who may have seen it.”
