‘Reno 911’ Star Niecy Nash Gets New TLC Reality Series

TLC must have been very happy with the nearly five million viewers who showed up for its wedding special with Clean House host and Reno 911 star Niecy Nash in June. The network has given the actress and comedian her own reality show.

It announced on Monday that production has started on Nash’s eight-episode docu-series produced by Shed Media US, which is slated to debut in early 2012.

“TLC is a new member of our big family, and we couldn’t be happier,” Nash, 41, says. “There’s a lot of love in our house, but also a lot of mayhem and foolishness – all the kids are acting crazy, I’m busier than ever, and Jay’s never raised girls before. We hope our fans welcome us into their homes… we need the room!”

In June, millions of viewers watched Nash prepare for her second marriage and wedding ceremony with electrical engineer, Jay Tucker. In the process, they combined their families including Nash’s mother, three teenage children and Tucker’s son.

“This series will reveal the journey of bringing a blended family together, and Niecy brings her heartfelt and often hysterical views of being a hard-working mom, wife and daughter,” TLC GM, Amy Winter, says. “Our audience shared in her beautiful and boisterous wedding, and will now get to see what’s happening after the honeymoon.”

The network seems to be on a roll with its new projects. THR exclusively reported on Monday that TLC has also started production on a series about competitive Irish dancers.
