Andrew Zimmern is Travel Channel’s heir apparent to exiting Anthony Bourdain.
The network announced Tuesday that it’s given the foodie’s Bizarre Foods America a renewal that will take the series to its seventh season.
In addition to Zimmern’s flagship series, Travel Channel has also handed out renewals to freshman Baggage Battles, Hotel Impossible, Trip Flip and Toy Hunter — with the latter getting an extra six episodes tacked onto its current season.
STORY: Anthony Bourdain Exits Travel Channel for CNN
“We are seeing a lot of success with our popular new shows,” said network GM Andy Singer. “Whether we are revealing the secrets of how a hotel should run or what amazing finds are hidden in unclaimed baggage and property, or taking unsuspecting people on an exhilarating vacation they never saw coming, our viewers tune in to Travel Channel to be entertained, informed and inspired. Our diverse selection of fun new programming coupled with talent who have strong and unique points-of-view, are helping redefine travel entertainment.”
Baggage Battles, Hotel Impossible and Trip Flip have all begun production on their second runs, with premieres scheduled for Nov. 14, Dec. 3 and a yet-to-be-announced date in 2013, respectively.
Travel Channel recently lost globe-trotting chef and network icon Anthony Bourdain to CNN. Episodes of his series No Reservations will continue to air through 2013.
The network picked up three new unscripted series in early September.
