The vampy True Blood returns Sunday, June 10, at 9 p.m. The 12-episode fifth season promises plenty of returns for the series and the debut of Law & Order: SVU’s Christopher Meloni as the Vampire Authority’s leader, Roman. Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer and Alexander Skarsgard return for another round of their love triangle. The season also marks co-creator Alan Ball’s last run as the series’ showrunner.
Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing) looks into the world of the 24-hour cable news world on The Newsroom. Its 10-episode inaugural season will premiere Sunday, June 24, at 10 p.m. The hour-long drama stars Jeff Daniels as news anchor, Will, as he becomes unraveled and does whatever he can to hold on to his audience. Emily Mortimer, Sam Waterston, John Gallagher, Jr., Alison Pill, Thomas Sadoski, Dev Patel and Olivia Munn also star. Sorkin created the new series and executive produces along with Scott Rudin and Alan Poul.
