Though NCIS (3.1 adults) started the night down four tenths of a point on CBS, the Tuesday lineup gave the network a win with adults 18-49 (2.5 rating) and total viewers (14.98 million). NCIS: LA (2.8 adults), the first of a two-part backdoor pilot for potential Red spinoff, was even with its last showing. Golden Boy (1.7 adults) was up two tenths of a point from its last original.
Splash made a few waves in its ABC debut. The celebrity diving competition opened to a 2.6 rating with adults 18-49, up 13 percent from last summer’s comparable Celebrity Wife Swap premiere and the broadcast networks’ biggest unscripted launch since X Factor in 2011. A Dancing With the Stars recap special (2.1 adults) was up a tenth from the same time last year, and Body of Proof (1.5 adults) jumped three tenths of a point. The network averaged a 2.0 rating with adults 18-49 and 8.9 million viewers.
On Fox, both Hell’s Kitchen (2.0 adults) and New Girl (2.2 adults) were down a tenth of a point from the last original outings. The Mindy Project (1.7 adults) was even with its last showing, giving Fox an average 2.0 rating with adults 18-49 and 4.3 million viewers.
Back-to-back episodes of Betty White’s Off Their Rockers (1.0 and 1.1 adults ratings) saw a dip at 8 p.m. but a two tenths of a point improvement at 8:30 p.m. Go On (1.0 adults) was down a tenth of a point, while The New Normal (0.7 adults) dropped two tenths of a point. Both were at new lows. Smash (0.8 adults) dropped a tenth of a point from last week, giving NBC a 0.9 adults rating for the night and 2.9 million viewers.
The CW’s iHeartRadio Album Release Party With Justin Timberlake (0.4 adults) was off from the typical performance of Hart of Dixie in the same slot. The network averaged a 0.3 rating with adults 18-49 and 802,000 viewers.
Univision averaged a 1.4 rating with adults 18-49 and 3.5 million viewers.
