Although it began the night with a substantial dip for How I Met Your Mother, CBS topped another Monday in adults 18-49 (2.8 average rating) and total viewers (9.7 million). At 8 p.m., HIMYM (3.2 adults) was off eight-tenths of a point compared with last week’s hyped episode. Rules of Engagement (2.8) dropped three-tenths compared with its season premiere, but 2 Broke Girls (3.6) was off only a tenth week-to-week. The latter also was the night’s top-rated program among broadcast networks. Mike & Molly (3.0) dropped two-tenths compared with its previous original episode, as did Hawaii Five-0 (2.1).

ABC saw ratings boosts across the board with The Bachelor (2.7) and Castle (2.0). The former rose three-tenths week-to-week to establish a Monday season high, and the latter grew two-tenths. On the night, the network averaged a second-place 2.5 adults rating and 8.6 million viewers.
On Fox, adults 18-49 ratings for Bones (2.2) and The Following (2.4) were down compared with last week, with the latter dropping a half-point in its fourth episode. The network averaged a 2.3 rating in the key demographic and 8.3 million viewers.
On NBC, The Biggest Loser (2.0 adults) slipped a tenth of a point to establish a season low, but Deception (1.2) recouped a tenth from last week’s dip. On the night, the network averaged a 1.8 demo rating and 4.8 million viewers.
On The CW, The Carrie Diaries (0.5 adults) dropped two-tenths compared with last week’s series high. 90210 (0.3) was down a tenth, giving the network a nightly 0.4 demo rating average to go with 933,000 average total viewers.
Univision averaged a 1.8 rating among adults 18-49 and 4.4 million viewers.
