CBS secured a Thursday victory, driven most notably by a rising and dominant Big Bang Theory.
The sitcom inched up three-tenths of a ratings point among adults 18-49, scoring a 3.4 rating in the key demo — and also nabbing 14.2 million viewers. It’s been a good season for the 10-year-old comedy. After steep drops last season, it is once again the No. 1 show on broadcast and is mulling its first spinoff.
Elsewhere on the network, The Great Indoors (1.7 adults), Mom (1.5 adults) and Life in Pieces (1.4 adults) were also improved. Drama Pure Genius was unmoved in its latest outing, averaging just a 0.9 rating in the key demo.
NBC’s early scores are tentative, on account of NFL’s Thursday Night Football airing in a handful of markets, but they put a positive spin on the entire lineup. Back-to-back episodes of Superstore, with a 1.3 and 1.4 rating among adults 18-49 respectively, as well as Chicago Med (1.5 adults) and The Blacklist (1.4 adults), all were lifted.
Grey’s Anatomy was off a shade on ABC, averaging a 1.9 rating in the key demo, while Notorious (0.9 adults) was improved before a steady How to Get Away With Murder (1.2 adults). Fox saw dips for both Rosewood and Pitch (0.7 adults).
On The CW, Legends of Tomorrow and Supernatural each averaged a 0.6 rating among adults 18-49.
