It was not a conventional night for the broadcast networks, so there will likely be more than a few adjustments once the news interruptions are taken into account.
The Big Bang Theory, which aired ahead of breaking news about the U.S. missile strike on Syria and the subsequent address from President Trump, held steady with a 2.6 rating among adults 18-49 and 12.3 million viewers. The rest of the lineup — The Great Outdoors, Mom, Life in Pieces, The Amazing Race — was in line with or slightly improved from last week. It all added up to a nightly win for CBS, which led in the key demo and among total viewers.
No. 2 status went to ABC, with dips across the board for Grey’s Anatomy (1.7 adults), Scandal (1.3 adults) and The Catch (0.7 adults). Losses were not unique to ABC. NBC also saw some sinking scores, particularly Superstore (0.8 adults) and The Blacklist: Redemption (0.6 adults). Though the spinoff is close to adjusting upwards, it is not holding its own compared to other NBC dramas — freshman or returning.
MasterChef Junior (0.9 adults) and Kicking & Screaming (0.6 adults) held steady on Fox, as did Supernatural (0.5 adults) and Riverdale (0.3 adults) on The CW.
