CBS continues its Friday night reign, though numbers slumped overall on Thanksgiving weekend.
The network averaged a 1.0 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic with 5.3 million viewers. Kicking off the night with two new holiday specials — Hoops and Yoyo Ruin Christmas and The Elf on the Shelf: An Elf’s Story — the network drew 4 million viewers in the 8 p.m. hour. Repeats of CSI: NY (5.5 million, 0.9) and Blue Bloods (6.5 million, 1.0) pulled the most viewers.
ABC trailed in second place, with Shrek the Third and a new episode of 20/20 earning the network a nightly average of 4.5 million viewers and a 1.1 rating. NBC averaged 4 million and a 1.0 rating with Nicolas Cage‘s National Treasure: Book of Secrets.
Fox aired Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man (4 million, 1.2) while the CW opted for Christmas specials Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer (1.8 million, 0.5) and Olive, The Other Reindeer (1.2 million, 0.3) in Nikita‘s regular timeslot.
