NBC’s long-middling Thursday lineup finally got a ratings transfusion last night with the arrival of The Blacklist. The network’s top drama, which spent a season and a half on Mondays, arrived in the 9 p.m. hour after hitting highs with its post-Super Bowl episode this past Sunday. And though the drama held steady with its prior regular showings, it didn’t see any lifts against daunting competition Scandal.

The Blacklist pulled a 2.3 rating among adults 18-49 and 9.9 million viewers. Live musicals aside, it gave the network some of its best Thursday ratings since E.R. went off the air.
Unfortunately, that lead-in did little for Allegiance. NBC’s new 10 p.m. drama, moving into the Parenthood vacancy, pulled just a 1.1 rating in the key demo and 4.9 million viewers.
NBC’s new lineup may have had some impact on the ecosystem. ABC’s dominant block all dipped from last week’s midseason returns. Grey’s Anatomy (2.2 adults) fell six-tenths of a point, while Scandal (3.1 adults) lost half a point. How to Get Away With Murder (2.7 adults) only shed four-tenths.
A steady Big Bang Theory (4.5 adults) led CBS and the broadcast night. Mom (2.8 adults) and Two and a Half Men (2.3 adults) were similarly unmoved — while Elementary (1.5 adults) inched up by two-tenths of a point.
American Idol (2.4 adults) improved two-tenths of a point, while upstart Backstrom (1.0 adults) faltered again, losing four-tenths of a point from last week’s second outing.
The Vampire Diaries (0.8 adults) and Reign (0.4 adults) were steady on The CW.
