The Big Bang Theory jumped 15 percent (eight-tenths of a point) compared with last week, easily topping Thursday night’s broadcasts with a 6.2 rating among the adults 18-49 demographic. CBS saw further growth with Two and a Half Men, up two-tenths with a 4.1 adults rating. Person of Interest (3.1) was down only a tenth, followed by a steady Elementary (2.2). On the night, CBS topped the other broadcast networks by averaging a 3.5 adults rating and 14.1 million viewers.
On Fox, American Idol was down four-tenths of a point compared with last Thursday. The hourlong installment averaged a 4.1 rating among adults 18-49 before Glee (2.2) saw a one-tenth bump. On the night, the network averaged a 3.2 adults rating and 9.7 million viewers.

An encore of Shark Tank led into a new Grey’s Anatomy (3.1 adults) on ABC. The drama was up three-tenths of a point compared with last Thursday. Scandal (2.8) rose a tenth of a point, winning the 10 p.m. hour and tying its series high. On the night, the network averaged a 2.4 adults rating and 7.3 million viewers.
Community fared well in its return to NBC. The long-delayed season premiere pulled a 1.9 rating among adults 18-49, up two-tenths compared with its previous opener and topping its previous original episode by 46 percent. The lead helped drive Parks and Recreation up 18 percent (three-tenths of a point) to a 2.0 adults rating, a season high. The Office (2.1) was flat compared with last Thursday, and 1600 Penn (1.1) dropped two-tenths from its previous original. At 10 p.m., Do No Harm fizzled even more in its second episode. It dropped two-tenths of a point, pulling a meager 0.7 rating in the key demo. On the night, NBC averaged a 1.4 adults rating and 3.1 million viewers.
On The CW, The Vampire Diaries (1.1 adults) was down two-tenths compared with last Thursday, and Beauty & the Beast (0.6) was down a tenth. On the night, the network averaged a 0.8 adults rating and 2 million viewers.
Univision averaged a 1.9 rating among adults 18-49 and 4.5 million viewers.
