Plenty of viewers did not spend Valentine’s Day in front of the tube, as many series were down — despite originals across the board, on Tuesday night TV. Fast affiliate ratings give a 18-49 victory for CBS, which bested close competition from Fox.
NCIS dipped 7 percent from its 200th episode for a 3.9 rating in adults 18-49, while NCIS: LA and Unforgettable both added an extra tenth of a point to their recent scores, for a respective 3.2 and 2.3. The network pulled a 3.1 altogether, with an easily dominant 15.5 million viewers.
On Fox, the accidental Whitney Houston reference didn’t boost Glee. The series was down 15 percent for a 2.8 in the demo. New Girl was just down 8 percent for a 3.2, and Raising Hope held onto its recent 2.1 among adults 18-49. The block gave Fox a 2.7 in 18-49-ers and 6.3 million viewers.
NBC pulled in third for the night with a 1.9 adults 18-49 rating and 5.4 million viewers. The Biggest Loser was down to a season low of 2.0, but Parenthood held onto the previous week’s 1.6 in the demo.
Cougar Town finally returned to ABC, down two tenths of a point from its last episode, for a 1.8 in adults 18-49 and 4.8 million viewers. The score, no thanks to a series low lead-in from Last Man Standing (2.2 in the demo), marks a concerning 47 percent drop from the season two premiere and is also a series low. The net pulled a 1.6 demo rating, following the comedies with The River (down 29 percent to a 1.7) and Body of Proof (Down 25 percent to a 1.2).
On the CW, Ringer pulled a series low of a 0.3 on the heels of a Hart of Dixie repeat.
More to come.
