NBC unveiled its new Friday block last night with the return of Grimm and the launch of Dracula at 10 p.m. Fast National returns give the freshman series a 1.8 rating with adults 18-49 and 5.3 million viewers. The network’s first scripted push into the hour in some time, it won the hour in the demo and held 100 percent of its lead-in. Grimm (1.8 adults) was up two-tenths from last fall’s Friday return (1.6 adults). Dateline (1.3 adults) started the night, even from last week’s two-hour episode, giving NBC a winning 1.6 rating among adults 18-49 for the night and 5.8 million viewers.

Shark Tank (2.0 adults), which matched last week’s episode in the demo and clocked in its most-watched episode to date (7.3 million), followed encores of comedies Last Man Standing and The Neighbors on ABC. 20/20 (1.5 adults) was up three-tenths from last week, giving the network a nightly average of a 1.4 rating with adults 18-49 and 6.1 million viewers.
Undercover Boss (1.6 adults) kicked off CBS’ evening down two-tenths of a point from last week’s jump. Hawaii Five-0 (1.4 adults) and Blue Bloods (1.3 adults) were even with last week. The network averaged a 1.4 rating with adults 18-49 and 9.6 million viewers.
Fox had a new episode of MasterChef Junior (1.4 adults), which was up a tenth from last week. The network averaged a 1.1 rating in the demo and 2.9 million viewers.
Over on The CW, The Carrie Diaries saw its Friday debut with a 0.3 adults rating. The Carrie Diaries premiered to a 0.6 rating among adults 18-49 on Mondays last January, where its freshman season saw a 20 percent demo lift in DVR use. The network also aired the iHeartradio Album Release Party With Katy Perry (0.2 adults), for a nightly average of a 0.3 in the demo and 773,000 viewers.
