Adding some variety to Sunday, which has been more or less dominated by football since September, Fox debuted new drama Almost Human last night.

The first installment of a two-part premiere — it enters its regular 8 p.m. Monday time slot on Nov. 18 — averaged a 3.1 rating with adults 18-49 and 9.1 million viewers. That’s no record for the fall but a solid entry with its NFL lead-in (Overrun brought a 6.9 adults rating, while The OT averaged a 5.4). It topped all other broadcast scripted offerings for the night.
For Fox, it matches the premiere for The Following, though it falls shy of Sleepy Hollow‘s 3.5 adults rating earlier this fall.
Elsewhere on Fox, The Simpsons (2.0 adults) matched last week’s score, while Family Guy (2.2 adults) improved by two-tenths of a point. The network averaged a 3.8 rating with adults 18-49 and 10.4 million viewers for the night — second place by both measures.
NBC’s Sunday Night Football topped the night, however. The Chiefs-Broncos game posted a preliminary 9.1 rating among adults 18-49 in Fast National returns. That’s up 30 percent from last week’s. Combined with three half-hour installments of Football Night in America (2.9, 4.4, 6.9 adults), NBC averaged a 7.5 adults rating and 20.8 million viewers for the night.
60 Minutes (1.7 adults) took a spill from last week’s NFL-boosted outing, shedding 1.4 points on CBS. The Amazing Race (2.0 adults) lost two-tenths, while The Good Wife (1.4 adults) dropped three-tenths and The Mentalist (1.3 adults) lost only one-tenth. The latter saw its biggest audience since the premiere, averaging 9.5 million viewers. CBS took a 1.6 adults rating and 10 million viewers for the night.
Over on ABC, America’s Funniest Home Videos (1.4 adults) improved by a tenth of a point from last week. Once Upon a Time (1.9 adults) was down two-tenths of a point to a series low. Revenge (1.5 adults) rebounded, up two-tenths, and Betrayal (0.9 adults) inched up by a tenth. ABC took a 1.4 rating with adults 18-49 and 5.6 million viewers for the night.
