Considering most Tuesday comedy launches are a disaster, Fresh Off the Boat‘s entry into ABC’s 8 p.m. hour last night wasn’t too shabby. After its strong sampling last Wednesday, sandwiched around an episode of Modern Family, back-to-back episodes of the new series fetched a 1.7 and 1.8 rating among adults 18-49. That put it well ahead of all other Tuesday comedies — including NBC’s Parks and Recreation, finally humbled with a 1.0 rating in the key demo ahead of its swan song.

A lifted NCIS (2.8 adults), up two-tenths of a point, was the top performer of the night. CBS also had steady episodes of New Orleans (2.2 adults) and Person of Interest (1.5 adults)
Elsewhere, on ABC, the lineup was steady with Agent Carter (1.4 adults) and a slightly lifted Forever (1.1 adults, up two-tenths). And, on NBC, Marry Me and About a Boy (each at a 0.8 rating) also held. Chicago Fire notched a 1.4 rating — down three-tenths of a point.
MasterChef Junior (1.4 adults) lost two-tenths of a point before steady outings of New Girl (1.3 adults) and The Mindy Project (1.0 adults).
On The CW, both The Flash (1.4 adults) and Supernatural (0.8 adults) held steady with last week.
