NBC’s Monday win among adults 18-49 was business as usual, with a two-hour The Voice powering the lineup thanks to its steady 2.3 rating in the key demo.
Still, matching its 1.0 rating, The Brave did not do the network any favors. NBC’s margin of victory over ABC was considerably smaller than the week before, and the latter also improved its win among total viewers.
ABC will see some adjustment to its Monday scores on account of football preemptions, but it’s still looking very good with slightly lifted episodes of both Dancing With the Stars (1.5 adults) and The Good Doctor (2.1 adults). The Good Doctor continues to do wonders for the evening, building on its lead-in by all measures. And with nearly 11 million viewers, it trailed only CBS’ The Big Bang Theory in the audience race.
Speaking of The Big Bang Theory, the comedy again propped up CBS’ Monday with a steady 2.7 rating among adults 18-49 and 12.6 million viewers. Its sitcom neighbors — 9JKL (1.3 adults), Kevin Can Wait (1.1 adults), Me, Myself & I (0.8 adults) — were all steady, if slightly down. Scorpion held with a 0.8 rating in the key demo.
On Fox, The Gifted earned a steady 1.1 rating among adults 18-49 and 3.5 million viewers after a new Lucifer (0.8 adults). And, on the CW, Supergirl kept its premiere 0.5 rating before Valor dipped to an ominous 0.2 rating among adults 18-49.
The big demo winner of the night will be ESPN’s coverage of Monday Night Football. Though the 6.1 rating among metered market households marked a season low, dipping from the previous week, it is virtually unmoved from the comparable game last year.
