A little East Coast overage of CBS’ ongoing March Madness coverage helped score a Sunday win for the network.
Though time zone adjustments will temper the lofty lead-in from NCAA basketball, CBS scored an easy win (by both measures) and saw a delayed 60 Minutes shoot up to a 1.7 rating among adults 18-49 and 10.6 million viewers. Not only did that help the series top NBC’s Little Big Shots for the night, it helped facilitate steady episodes of NCIS: Los Angeles (1.2 adults), Madam Secretary (0.8 adults) and Elementary (0.6 adults).
The big night for CBS brought dips for NBC — though Little Big Shots (1.5 adults) and Shades of Blue (0.8 adults) still won their time slots. Chicago Justice was down to a 1.0 rating in the key demo during its third outing. Fox saw even episodes of Bob’s Burgers (0.8 adults), Making History (0.7 adults), Family Guy (1.1 adults) and The Last Man on Earth (0.8 adults) — while The Simpsons dipped to a 1.0 rating.
There was more fatigue elsewhere. After a low Once Upon a Time (0.8 adults), ABC’s Time After Time slipped to just a 0.4 rating among adults 18-49, tying an also beleaguered American Crime.
