Another night of slim pickings on the broadcast networks, more or less checked out for the holidays, produced a very modest win for the lone original offering on Tuesday.
ABC current-events retrospective The Year: 2015, a rehashing of the year’s bigger pop-culture moments (Disney-owned Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Diane Sawyer’s Caitlyn Jenner exclusive included), averaged a 1.0 rating among adults 18-49 and 4.1 million viewers between 9 and 11 p.m.
The biggest turnout of the evening, however, happened during the 8 o’clock hour. A repeat of NCIS on CBS was the night’s highest-rated (1.2 in the key demo) and most-watched (10.8 million viewers) thing going for TV on Tuesday.
The NCIS repeat bested direct competition from NBC, a holiday special outing of Hollywood Game Night (0.8 adults).
