TV Ratings: O.J. Simpson Trial Remains a Solid Draw 20 Years Later

Twenty years later, the O.J. Simpson trial is still good for ratings.

One of many primetime events tied to the 20-year anniversary of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman‘s 1994 slaying, Dateline: The People Versus O.J. Simpson topped Tuesday night in the key demo. Posting a narrow victory over Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance, the two-hour special averaged a 1.4 rating among adults 18-49, marking a slight improvement from NBC News’ last big primetime play, Brian Williams‘ sit-down with Edward Snowden.

So You Think You Can Dance, averaging a 1.3 rating with adults under 50, fell two-tenths of a point from last week — but still helped Fox share a nightly demo victory with NBC.

ABC’s lone original, Motive (0.7 adults), took a four-tenths spill from last week. And the freshman season finale of The 100 (0.5 adults) on The CW was basically steady with its penultimate showing last week.
