NBC scored one of its best Wednesdays in recent memory thanks to an outing of America’s Got Talent. The series, moving from the auditions to the live broadcasts, marked a nine-month time period high for the network with a 2.8 rating among adults 18-49 during the 9 to 11 p.m. block. That followed another very consistent outing for the Olympic trials, which again pulled a 1.9 in the demo. Altogether, NBC earned a 2.5 adults rating and 9.3 million viewers.
So You Think You Can Dance had its first real competition in entertainment broadcasts against the new slot for Talent. Fox placed second with a 2.0 rating among adults 18-49 for the night, falling four tenths of a point from last week’s episode. The network also averaged 5.6 million viewers.
Earning a 1.3 adults 18-49 rating and just under 3.5 million viewers for the night was Univision. The network bested ABC and CBS’ shared fourth place position for the night. Both networks earned a 1.1 adults rating.
CBS had a 5.5 million strong audience with repeats of Criminal Minds and CSI and a new outing for Dogs in the City — which brought was down two tenths of a point for a 0.9 rating among adults 18-49.
Also mostly airing encores, ABC averaged 3.8 million viewers and aired ABC News special Final Witness to the tune of a 1.0 rating among adults 18-49.
America’s Next Top Model reruns averaged a 0.3 adults rating and 659,000 viewers for the night, making it the network’s best performing encores of the week.
