More good news for NBC: American Ninja Warrior‘s latest season is shaping up nicely. After all of the broadcast networks saw softer returns from last week’s Memorial Day holiday, this Monday saw improvement across the board — propelling Ninja Warrior to top all other Big Four outings in the key demo.
The two-hour episode, with no lead-in of note, improved 19 percent to an average 1.9 rating among adults 18-49. (That score comes with the caveat of baseball preemption in the Cleveland market, so its improvement could prove smaller in final ratings.)

Its closest competition came from 24: Live Another Day. The series was up 20 percent to an average 1.8 rating with adults 18-49. MasterChef (1.7 adults), also improved with 21 percent growth, helped secure a nightly demo win for Fox.
ABC’s The Bachelorette (1.7 adults) improved two-tenths of a point ahead of the sophomore premiere of Mistresses. ABC’s soft-but-steady drama from last summer matched its demo debut of a 1.2 rating with adults 18-49 and hit a new high in total viewers with 4.5 million.
On The CW, the return of Beauty and the Beast (0.4 adults) brought two-tenths of a point improvement, while lead-in Whose Line Is It Anyway? (a 0.5 rating in a new time slot) was more or less in line with its most recent Friday showing.
