CBS has got to be pleased with the first outing for Rob. The self-titled sitcom from Rob Schneider premiered with a 4.1 rating among 18-49-year-olds. It was a 21 percent drop from its Big Bang Theory lead-in (5.2 rating), the night’s perennial victor, but it still helped give the network a 3.5 rating in the key demo for the night and an average audience of 14.3 million.
Elsewhere on the Eye, Person of Interest grew 14 percent from its last original to a 3.2 among adults 18-49, with The Mentalist flat with its recent 2.7.
Though all three broadcasts — Wipeout (2.2 rating among adults 18-49), Grey’s Anatomy (3.8), Private Practice (2.4) — were down double digits, ABC still managed second for the night with a 2.8 rating in the key demo and 8.1 million viewers.
Fox is likely curious to see how much better The Finder will perform when it adds an American Idol lead-in next week. The crowd watching its parent series Bones (even with its recent 2.4 in 18-49-ers) didn’t all stick around, giving the freshman drama a 1.7 in the demo. It was the first Fox drama to debut on a Thursday in six and a half years. The net averaged 2.0 rating and 7 million viewers.
On NBC, the newly rejiggered line-up saw the midseason addition of 30 Rock. The comedy earned a 1.8 among adults 18-49, down from its previous season’s premiere but up from the time slot’s past three months. Parks and Recreation added 6 percent for a 1.9 in the demo, followed by an even Office (2.9) and Up All Night getting a slight boost from it’s previous Wednesday home for a 2.0.
The Firm fell another 30 percent from its Thursday premiere, pulling in a 1.0 in adults 18-49. NBC averaged a 1.8 rating in the demo and 4.5 million viewers.
On The CW, a new outing from The Vampire Diaries was down two tenths to a 1.2 in adults 18-49, with The Secret Circle even with last week’s 0.8 in the group. The net brought in 1.0 in adults 18-49 for the night, with 2.4 million viewers.
