Just two days after cutting entertainment president Paul Lee loose, ABC suffered some rather discouraging same-day scores for its TGIT block.
The threesome of Shonda Rhimes-produced dramas were all down from last week’s midseason premieres, two of them dropping into unfamiliarly low territory. Scandal and How to Get Away With Murder each dropped four-tenths of a point in the key demo, with Scandal averaging a 1.7 rating among adults 18-49 and Murder pulling just a 1.4 rating with the demo. Grey’s Anatomy was also down, by two-tenths of a point, but led them all with a 2.2 rating among adults 18-49.
American Idol gave Fox the strongest average of the night with adults 18-49, pulling a steady 2.0 rating for its two-hour outing.
ABC’s loss is CBS’ gain, the network boasting more of a demo edge for the night thanks to a steady Big Bang Theory (3.8 adults). Life in Pieces (2.1 adults), Mom (1.8 adults) and Elementary (1.0 adults) were all steady as well, with 2 Broke Girls moving into the 9:30 p.m. time slot with a 1.5 rating among adults 18-49.
On NBC, You Me and the Apocalypse (0.6 adults) lost two-tenths of a point, while The Blacklist (1.3 adults) and Shades of Blue (1.1 adults) held.
?Legends of Tomorrow averaged a 0.8 rating among adults 18-49 for the CW, while The 100 pulled a 0.5 rating.
