A pretty even mix of repeats and originals brought a narrow Thursday victory to CBS — though, among new telecasts, it was ABC’s Scandal that topped the night in the key demo.
With a 1.3 rating among adults 18-49, Scandal tied an encore The Big Bang Theory for the top score with younger viewers for the night. The ABC show doubled its encore lead-in, while 10 o’clock offering The Catch dipped down to a 0.6 rating. CBS led the night with its comedy repeat and a two-hour episode of The Amazing Race. The reality competition pulled a steady 0.9 rating in the key demo at 9 p.m. before dipping to a 0.8 rating at 10 p.m.
NBC was also in originals, with Superstore (0.9 adults), Powerless (0.6 adults) and back-to-back episodes of The Blacklist. The returning drama averaged a 0.9 and a 0.8 rating among adults 18-49 in its two outings, mirroring the scores of CBS’ The Amazing Race.
The only other network to air all originals, Fox, saw steady episodes of MasterChef Junior (1.0 adults) and Kicking and Screaming 0.6 adults).
