A lot of viewers have either been too busy to tune into Saturday Night Live‘s five weeks of election-skewering or didn’t mind settling in for a clip show, because NBC’s campaign-themed SNL highlights hour did quite well on election eve.
With an average 2.1 rating among adults 18-49 and nearly 8 million viewers, the special was the second-biggest thing going on Monday night. It was only outrated by lead-in The Voice. And The Voice, like all Monday shows, was up from the previous week. The two-hour competition averaged a 2.3 rating in the key demo and 9.9 million viewers.

Kevin Can Wait saw Monday’s biggest gain, improving four-tenths of a ratings point on CBS for a 1.7 among adults 18-49. Man With a Plan (1.4 adults), 2 Broke Girls (1.4 adults) and The Odd Couple (1.1 adults) also improved — while Scorpion just held at a 1.1 rating.
ABC had an improved Dancing With the Stars at a 1.6 rating among adults 18-49. It was also the night’s most-watched telecast with 10.9 million viewers. Conviction limped in at a 0.7 rating in the key demo. On Fox, Gotham (1.2 adults) rose two-tenths of a point and Lucifer held a 1.0 rating.
The CW saw modest improvement for Jane the Virgin (0.5 adults) and Supergirl (0.7 adults).
