Audiences clearly hadn’t gotten their fill of football by the end of the four-day holiday weekend.
A snowy Sunday Night Football scored on NBC, averaging a 16.2 households rating in preliminary stats — the second-biggest overnight haul for a Week 12 SNF to date. Compared to the lows the week before, the game was also up leaps and bounds. The Denver Broncos’ overtime win over the New England Patriots averaged an early 7.8 rating among adults 18-49 before time-zone adjustments.
CBS’ own sizable NFL overrun lifted 60 Minutes, which pulled a 2.5 rating among adults 18-49. The delays had dramas Madam Secretary (1.2 adults) and The Good Wife (0.9 adults) steady with their recent showings.
ABC’s Once Upon a Time suffered the night’s biggest drop in the face of all the football competition. Sunday’s episode brought a series low in same-day showings, a 1.3 rating among adults 18-49. (That’s off three-tenths of a point from the previous episode). The enduringly DVR-friendly Quantico nabbed a steady 1.2 rating in the key demo.
Fox special The Breakthrough Prize took a 0.4 rating with adults 18-49.
